Welcome to A Nurturing Space

A Nurturing Space is an independent nurse-midwifery practice owned by
Melinda Hoskins, CNM,  offering health care services to women through-out their
reproductive life span -- from the teenage years to the retirement years.


We are located in Minden, Nevada, at 1664 Highway 395, Suite 201, sharing office space
with Dr. David Hoskins, a family physician and Melinda's husband..



Our Mission

At A Nurturing Space it is our mission to provide midwifery-based health care services
focused on the individual needs of each woman and newborn.



Our Philosophy

At A Nurturing Space our philosophy is that all clients deserve care that emphasizes
education, partnership, and a positive view.  We invite women to participate in their care,
utilize our extensive resource library, and suggest other ways in which we can promote
women's health and well-being.



Our Goals

At the current time we provide well-woman care including annual exams, pre-conceptual
care, contraceptive counseling and prescriptions, primary health care within the scope of
practice of a CNM, breastfeeding education and support, newborn care through the first
month, within the office environment. Breastfeeding education and support may also be
offered in your home.

It is the goal of A Nurturing Space  to eventually grow into a free-standing birth center
serving the women and families of Northern Nevada with an alternative birthing experience.
